In today’s hurried society, taking a moment to thank someone for their friendship is special and deserving a shout out. It’s really cool for William Shatner to take time and pen “Leonard, My Fifty-Year Friendship With A Remarkable Man.”  Shatner was very kind to me when I was a rookie journalist and I will never forget that!

I’m sure Shatner’s recollections will be of interest to everyone and not just Star Trek fans as they’re peppered with wit and humor.  Nimoy was a complex man and talent but seems to be mainly remembered as Mr. Spock. He was a seasoned actor, a noted film director and an accomplished photographer.  It’s not surprising that Nimoy called both his autobiographies, I Am Not Spock to try and shed a light on the other aspects of his life.  But, like in 1988 when an asteroid was named 4864 Nimoy in his honor, hopefully this book will pay a tribute to the Man behind Mr. Spock not just the actor!

Despite what was written and said about Shatner and Nimoy and their friendships or feuds, this book is a beautiful tribute!  And, it’s refreshing for one of them to thank and appreciate the other.  They are both legends of  film and television, and it’s wonderful for such a positive imprint to be left in publishing. There are no misunderstandings to be had, the title says it all! It’s about the fifty year friendship of a remarkable man!

And, here’s wishing for “Leonard” to climb to bestseller!
